About the record, Chris says “The sound was really a result of our limitations. 16 tracks. 1 inch tape. Whole band crammed in a tiny room. Lots of bleed. Limitations are your guide! Clearly there are overdubs, but the majority of this record was cut live. I like records where the room is a sound that you hear. It feels more like you're in it. You are there. It feels human. Unpolished, imperfect, and graceful.”
