Frank Hurricane - "Southern Shrymp (In the Big City)" - Vinyl LP - Preorder
Frank Hurricane is a spiritual blues and folk musician/storyteller/bard from the South and the North of the US. He has been traveling and performing in the underground and DIY scene for well over a decade, gathering tales and touring across the world. He has released a large catalog of records. PBS recently made an Emmy-Nominated documentary about his musical journey. He has performed alongside many legends across the spiritual board and has hiked thousands of miles of trails in the mountains.
Southern Shrymp (In the Big City) is Frank Hurricane’s chronicle of kaleidoscopic folk-forward Americana spiritual blues, interpreting both the modern urban and backwoods experience and inviting you into the lives of the people on the outskirts - the wild ones, the rough angels sitting on the mystic margins. Shedding the prism-light on the characters he meets in his songs, Frank also sings about the spiritual glory of the mountains and rivers of the Appalachian landscape he loves, psychedelically wound together over Frank’s intricate fingerpicking, soulful vocals, tender melodies, and transcendent vision.
